Capt (Dr) Sohail is the patron and founder of "Mother Helpage Worldwide ", the charity working for disaster  relief and rescue worldwide, which was formed after the demise of Capt. Sohail's mother in 1994.Mother Helpage is at the moment active in almost 8 poorest countries in the world and is also the member of the biggest charities and developmental institutions in the world.

The aims of the charity are as follows:

1-Disaster response and rescue operations worldwide with the help of its qualified and skilled pilots and disaster medical specialists. 

2-Provides training to world charities and other international organisations about disaster preparedness

3-Carrying out projects worldwide for the community development and poverty alleviation like :

• Reduction of Infant mortality 
• Awareness and treatment programmes for HIV/AIDS
• Counselling for post trauma stress disorder related problems
• Fair trade programmes
• Income generation programmes
• Educational projects.
